Mount Snow Academy (MSA), a winter term ski academy in southern Vermont, is seeking both, full-time and weekend alpine race coaches for the 2017-18 season. For over 35 years, MSA has been providing an elite ski racing experience with a strong focus on goal setting and athletic achievement while instilling strong values in each of our student-athletes (U12 through U19.) Over the past two years, our program has grown by more than 50%, with the addition of an expanding ski academy, weekend programming and strong partnerships with our home training venues of Mount Snow and The Hermitage Club.We are seeking dedicated coaches who possess a strong technical background, effective coaching style and love working with kids. We are seeking Certified Coaches (USSA 100 or higher) to complement our existing coaching staff.

Ragged Mountain Ski Team (RMST) is seeking coaches for the 2017/18 season! RMST is located in Danbury, NH within easy driving distance of Boston, MA, Manchester and Concord, NH. RMST is a United Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) affiliated ski team in the process of seeking Gold Club Certification through USSA. RMST is a growing (34% YoY) weekend based Alpine ski program from that strives to provide the best opportunity for young athletes of all backgrounds and commitment levels, the chance to enjoy and achieve excellence in alpine skiing and racing. RMST does this by providing a professional staff with regular training on appropriate, quality terrain, in a fun, healthy, family-friendly, environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship and confidence. We coach our athletes to become great skiers first, with a broad fundamental skill base while fostering a love for the sport. Our goal is that RMST athletes find a lifetime of skiing and racing enjoyment. RMST is a family-focused, energetic group dedicated to alpine ski training and racing starting with the Mini Mountain Meisters, then on to the Development Team, and through U19, SR. age groups while maintaining a 6:1 Athlete to Coach training/supervision ratio. The program has seen substantial growth recently with well over 120 athletes and is in need of Certified Coaches. Most of the training takes place on weekends and holidays. (With the opportunity for training at other nearby areas for older athletes as well as the possibility of mid-week training depending on an athlete`s goals and coaches schedules). Younger athletes race NHARA Central Council races and older athletes compete throughout New Hampshire and New England. We take great pride in consistently putting on high quality races and having fun while doing it. We are seeking Certified Coaches (USSA 100 or higher) to complement our existing staff and we have coaching needs for both younger and older age groups.

Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, FIS Coach

The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club seeks a professional, engaged, and enthusiastic FIS coach.  This coach’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to work under pressure, with capacity to organize, prioritize and manage complex projects and processes pertaining to all FIS aged athletes.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to ensure consistency of coaching, programming and process.
  • Proficient knowledge of alpine racing and training, including course setting, safety netting and overall safety standards.
  • Team player amongst SSWSC staff and coaches with proven leadership skills.
  • Must possess excellent relationship and communication skills, in order to work closely with other coaches/parents/athletes and community partners.
  • Must maintain current USSA coach certification.
  • The candidate shall embody the SSWCS core values of Excellence, Integrity, Respect, Dedication, and Teamwork.

Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, U12 Head Alpine Coach  

The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club seeks a highly dynamic, energetic, skilled and experienced coach to take leadership of its U12 program.  The candidate shall be responsible for implementing a sound training progression that fits within the parameters of the alpine program at large.  She or he will work closely with both the U10 and U14 Head Coaches and the Alpine Director.  Exemplary communication skills are an absolute must; as is a strong knowledge of the age group.  Computer and video technology abilities are highly valued.  The candidate must possess the skills to create and maintain trust and strong working relationships with both athletes and the coaches under his or her charge at all times.  Of greatest importance, the candidate shall embody the SSWCS core values of Excellence, Integrity, Respect, Dedication, and Teamwork.

USSA level 200 certified coaching credentials or higher preferred.

Alyeska Ski Club Coaching Opportunities For almost 50 years, the Alyeska Ski Club’s (ASC) programs have created a community where generations of skiers have achieved many levels of athletic and personal success on the international, national and regional scene. ASC programs provide a pathway for personal and athletic achievement for more than 500 athletes annually.  ASC’s high retention rate in all programs is a testament to the health of our club and strong leadership support.  Our programs are well supported by our Board of Directors, existing staff and a committed base of athletes, parents and volunteers.

ASC is seeking qualified applicants for both Assistant and Head Junior Coach positions for the 2017-18 season in all age groups (U12-U19).  Both part-time and full-time positions are available for qualified candidates on both seasonal and annual basis.  We offer competitive compensation for professional coaches who have an established track record of developing athletes at the various age levels.

Junior Age Class Head Coach Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills

  • Minimum Level 300 Coaches Certification or foreign equivalent.
  • 3+ years previous experience in a Head Coach and/or Program Director role.
  • Personal high level competitive experience an asset.
  • Extensive knowledge of alpine racing and dryland training programs with a proven record of developing successful athletes at the regional and/or national level.
  • Ability to develop strategies and define best practices, training plans and athletic based curriculum for athlete development.
  • Ability to assist in formation of project planning and budgets.
  • Ability to provide guidance in the areas of sport psychology, nutrition and equipment selection, preparation and maintenance.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with parents and athletes.
  • Ability to work within a larger coaching team and able to create and nurture an environment of team spirit and unity.  
  • Ability to act as a positive role model, inspiring, motivating, and positively influencing athletes.
  • Results oriented and highly self-motivated.
