The Sprint U.S. Grand Prix returns to Park City Mountain Resort Jan. 28 – Feb. 2 with halfpipe snowboarding and freeskiing featuring X Games gold medalist David Wise and defending freeskiing champion Maddie Bowman.
Despite snow and wind Maddie Bowman displayed great athleticism with her left and right 900’s that landed her in first at the Visa U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix.
New to the Olympic sports roster, halfpipe and slopestyle freeskiing, will hit Copper Mountain Jan. 9-12 for the Visa U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix.
Brita Sigourney’s amplitude and technical tricks won the judges over at women’s halfpipe finals at Dew Tour today.

![]() Being good at too many things is a problem many people would like to have, but for Brita Sigourney, it was her reality. While attending UC Davis for water polo, the freeskier balanced her busy collegiate athletic career with her ski competition schedule before she realized her passion was skiing. Sigourney then dropped water polo and positioned her focus on halfpipe, where in her first full competition year she took home the Junior World Championship title and a silver medal at the U.S. Championships. She continued her hot streak into 2011, taking silver in her X Games halfpipe debut and grabbing a halfpipe win in the last stop of the 2011 Dew Tour. Her 2012 season proved just as successful with a bronze at her second X Games and two wins at the VISA U.S. Grand Prix in Copper Mountain, CO and Mammoth Mountain, CA. Sigourney suffered a knee injury halfway through 2012 and immediately turned her focus to recovery. After rehabilitating her knee, Sigourney made a statement in December 2012 by winning the Dew Tour and taking third at the U.S. VISA Freeskiing Grand Prix. At the Sochi test event World Cup in February 2013, Sigourney fell, broke her collarbone and injured her shoulder. After undergoing surgery for her shoulder, she learned she had also reinjured her knee. Despite the bad news she is optimistic she will be strong and on the snow again, ready to dominate in the 2014 season. BRITA SAYS FIRST TRACKS OFF THE SNOW |
